On 07-06-1987 a few humble servant of this locality assembled at "arimala clinic" and discussed various ways and means for the uplifts of community from its educational and financial backwardness. these members decided to establish a society by name "C.H MUHAMMED KOYA MEMORIAL EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE SOCIETY,KANHANGAD" The society was registered in 1990 under the society registration act vide register No :118/90. The Society has broad programmes like opening of schools,colleges,technical institutions,to award scholarships and to provide facilities to deserving brilliant students who are economically weak, to engage rural development activities etc.As a part of its ambitious programmes ,Crescent English School was established for providing sound,liberal and secular education to the children of the community with facilities for moral education.The school is open for all communities for both boys and girls.
